Lufthansa to rollout Wi-Fi on short-haul A320 fleet
In October of this year, the first Lufthansa short- and medium-haul aircraft will take off with broadband internet on board. Lufthansa’s entire A320 family fleet is expected to have the innovative technology installed by mid-2018.
Malaysia Airlines signs with Lufthansa for Kuala Lumpur facility
Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad has signed a terms of reference with Lufthansa Technik on a strategic partnership framework for a joint venture to establish a regional maintenance, repair and overhaul facility. The facility, planned for 2017, would be based at Malaysia Airlines’ existing facilities at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and service the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family of aircraft.

Lufthansa to resume Frankfurt-Cape Town flights in December

Lufthansa relaunches flights to Denver from Munich hub
Lufthansa German Airlines has re-launched its Denver to Munich route with the departure of LH480 from Munich 11:45. The inaugural flight is scheduled to touch down at Denver International Airport at 14:30, where it will be greeted by Lufthansa colleagues, airport executives, elected officials and tourism partners. The return flight, LH481, will leave Denver at 16:05 and arrive in the Bavarian capital at 10:05 tomorrow.

German flag-carrier Lufthansa has released an advert poking fun at England football fans ahead of the European Championships. The spot features two well-dressed England supporters being inadvertently rebooked onto a Lufthansa flight. They are overwhelmed by visions of stereotypical German music, food and fans, before being relieved to discover it is all a dream.
Lufthansa postpones full Brussels Airlines acquisition
The executive board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG informed the company’s supervisory board at its meeting yesterday that Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines have agreed to extend – by an additional three months – the deadline for Lufthansa to decide on the call option to fully acquire Brussels Airlines’ parent company SN Airholding. Under their existing agreement, Lufthansa was required to take this decision, through which it could acquire the remaining 55 per cent of SN Airholding by the beginning of June.

Ensuring a stable and safe load control – or in other words, that the weight and balance of the aircraft is optimised – is one of the main operational challenges airlines face. Load control plays a vital role in increasing efficiency, on-time performance and reducing fuel costs. And so with this in mind, Lufthansa Group and Amadeus have reached an agreement that will see the group’s airlines adopt Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Flight Management, starting with Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo.
Lufthansa receives second A320neo from Airbus
Lufthansa has received a second A320neo from Airbus. The aircraft, with the registration D-AINB, flew last night to its future base airport, Frankfurt am Main. The first scheduled commercial flight is planned for today and will fly as LH072 to Dusseldorf, making Dusseldorf another destination for the A320neo together with Hamburg, Berlin and Munich.
Lufthansa reports sharp increases in revenue for 2015
The Lufthansa Group generated revenues of €32.1 billion, a 6.8 per cent increase on the previous year. Adjusted EBIT at the airline also increased by 55 per cent, to €1.8 billion. The results sit within the forecast range defined last October, even including some €100 million earnings impact as a result of strikes in the fourth quarter.
Lufthansa launches new Frankfurt-Panama City service
Lufthansa has launched a non-stop service between Frankfurt, Germany, and Panama City. Flight LH 484 departed from Frankfurt at 10:15 today, and is scheduled to arrive at the Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen in Panama City at 16:40 local time this afternoon. Eastbound flight LH 485 will leave Panama City at 18:45 local time this evening, and is due to land in Frankfurt at 11:35 local time tomorrow.
