Korean Air boosts connections to Mongolia’s Urumqi with China Southern
Korean Air has announced a code-share agreement with China Southern Airlines on the Seoul-Urumqi route. Korean Air’s flights depart from Incheon International Airport on Tuesday and Saturday and China Southern Airlines will operate on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, giving a choice of five flights a week on the route.
New A380 options as Korean Air receives new aircraft
Korean Air has added a tenth A380 aircraft to its fleet. The latest A380 will go through the required tests in Korea before making its debut flight to Atlanta on August 3rd. Korean Air operates fourteen A380 flights a week between both Incheon-Los Angeles and Incheon-New York and also seven flights a week between Incheon-Paris.
Korean Air boosts flight frequencies to Americas
Korean Air has announced to increase frequency on its routes to Americas and south-east Asia. The carrier will strengthen its routes to the Americas and provide customers with widened flight options.
Korean Air boosts China flight connections
Korean Air has increased frequency on its routes to China starting from July. The number of flights on Korean Air’s six China routes will be increased to 15 times in total.
Korean Air expands Airbus A380 fleet with new Atlanta route
Korean Air, South Korea’s flagship airline, has introduced the ninth A380 aircraft to its fleet. The ninth A380 will go through the required tests in Korea before making its debut flight to Atlanta on July 6th.
Korean Air to link Seoul with Irkutsk in Siberia
Korean Air has said that it will resume its service between Incheon International Airport, Seoul and Irkutsk, one of the largest cities in Siberia, known for its continental architecture and gateway to an area famed for its natural beauty. Commencing May 19th, Korean Air will operate two flights a week on the Incheon-Irkutsk route, utilizing a B737-900 aircraft seating 159 passengers in two classes.
Korean Air brings Airbus A380 to Paris route
Korean Air has announced the commencement of an A380 service between Seoul Incheon Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. As from March 30th 2014, Korean Air’s A380 which is configured with 407 seats, replaced the B777-300 formerly used on the route, which seated 291 passengers; thus increasing the total capacity on the route by 40 per cent.
Korean Air adds Sri Lanka, Maldives flights
Korean Air has launched a direct service flying from Sri Lanka and the Maldives to Seoul Incheon, expanding its network to countries in the Indian Ocean. Korean Air’s new three times weekly direct service flies from Male in the Maldives to Colombo in Sri Lanka first, and then onto Seoul/Incheon in Korea.
Korean Air makes major A380 play in USA
Korean Air is adding a second A380 flight from JFK in May, making it the only airline serving both coasts with double daily A380 flights to Asia. Korean Air currently offers double daily A380 flights from Los Angeles and daily A380 flights from New York. The airline also flies out of ten other US cities.
Korean Air to allow personal electronic devices
Korean Air has announced that it will allow the use of Portable Electronic Devices for the entire duration of the flight starting. Korean Air has obtained approval of the safety evaluation for expanding the use of such devices from the Korean ministry of land, infrastructure and transport.
Korean Air signs codeshare with Air Tahiti Nui
Korean Air has announced a code-share agreement with Air Tahiti Nui, on the Seoul-Papeete (via Tokyo) route. The codeshare on the flights to Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, located on the island of Tahiti, will provide increased convenience and choice to Korean Air’s passengers travelling to Tahiti.
Korean Air launches new service to Houston
Korean Air is launching non-stop service between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Incheon International Airport in Seoul, beginning in May 2014. The inaugural flight will take place on May 2nd, with service aboard a B777-200 aircraft.
