Dubai World Central welcomes first A380 flight
Dubai World Central reached a new milestone earlier when it welcomed its first scheduled A380 passenger flight – Korean Air’s flight KE9951 from Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
Korean Air to bring Boeing Dreamliner 747-8i to Heathrow
South Korea’s flagship airline, has announced from March 26th, it will have a mixed fleet operating between London Heathrow and Incheon, Seoul. Both Korean Air’s acclaimed A380 and the latest Boeing 747-8i will be used on the route, and Korean Air’s B747-8i will be the first commercial passenger aircraft of its kind to land at Heathrow.

Korean Air has unveiled its brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Incheon Airport. Walter Cho, president of Korean Air, was present at a ceremony at the Korean Air hangar to unveil Korea’s very first Dreamliner to the public.

Boeing and Korean Air today celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first 787-9 Dreamliner. The Seoul-based carrier will be the first Korean carrier to operate the 787-9 Dreamliner in the country.
Korean Air welcomes first direct flight to Delhi, India
Korean Air has celebrated its inaugural Delhi-Incheon direct flight with a welcome ceremony at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport. Korean Air’s maiden flight from Incheon to Delhi, KE481, touched down at Indira Gandhi Airport and was welcomed with a water canon event prepared by the airport.
Korean Air reveals network changes for summer 2017
Commencing April 2017, Korean Air will introduce direct flights from Incheon to Barcelona, the second largest city of Spain next to Madrid and one of the most visited cities in Europe, both by tourists and business travellers. As the cultural centre of Catalonia, Barcelona has several internationally acclaimed cultural attractions such as the MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona), the Picasso Museum, the Miró Foundation and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.
Korean Air launches new Delhi services
Korean Air is launching nonstop service between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport and Incheon International Airport beginning December 2016. Delhi will be the second destination for Korean Air following Mumbai in India. The inaugural flight will take place on December 1st, with service aboard an Airbus A330-200 aircraft capable of seating 218.
Korean Air posts largest ever quarterly profit
Korean Air has posted its biggest quarterly profit in history, partially dispelling recent worries about its financial instability. In the third quarter of 2016, Korean Air recorded sales revenue of 3.06 trillion won, an operating profit of 447.6 billion won and a net profit of 428 billion won.
Korean Air tightens relationship with Delta Air Lines
Korean Air and Delta Air Lines will strengthen their partnership by expanding codeshares to more than 100 United States and Canadian destinations and over 30 cities across Asia. The airlines plan to launch the new codeshares in the fourth quarter of 2016, subject to government approvals.
Korean Air long-haul passengers to face $120 no-show fees
Korean Air has announced it will introduce ‘no-show’ fees for passengers who fail to provide advance notice that they no longer require a flight booking. Korean Air confirmed fees will be applied to tickets purchased from October 1st for passengers who either do not cancel their reservation prior to the scheduled time of departure or passengers who do not board their flight after check-in has been completed.
Jong Rae Kim to head up Korean Air UK operations
Korean Air has announced the appointment of Jong Rae Kim as the new Korean Air UK & Ireland regional manager, heading up the airline’s UK operation and based at Korean Air’s central London office. Kim has been with Korean Air since 1996 and has gained valuable experience in various divisions of the company, including a four-year stint as general manager at the regional cargo sales office in Seoul.
Korean Air flies into New Delhi, cuts Sao Paulo departures
In response to competition in the global aviation market, Korean Air has announced some network realignment. Commencing December 2016, Korean Air will introduce direct flights to New Delhi, the capital and commercial centre of India.
