In terms of visitor numbers, Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry remains bigger than Dubai’s. In the first quarter of this year, the Kingdom had 7.8 million tourists, while Dubai had 4.7 million.

Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President and Group Chairman, H.E. Romuald Wadagni,  addressed the media during a press conference held as part of the 2023 Annual Meetings of the IsDB Group taking place in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from 10-13 May.

Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund (TDF) announced today the signing of a financing agreement with Shada Real Estate Development and Investment Company. The agreement is to establish a 4-star boutique hotel featuring 110 hotel rooms in Jeddah, one of the targeted tourist destinations. The hotel will be designed with a mix of the architectural styles of Makkah region and the local style.

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) champions knowledge exploration and scientific discovery at the inaugural edition of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation’s Islamic Arts Biennale. The Center takes a multidisciplinary approach to a reexamination of the relationship between culture and Islamic civilization at the biennale, held in Jeddah until April 23, 2023.

IHG Hotels and Resorts has put pen to paper for its third Hotel Indigo in Saudi Arabia. Hotel Indigo Jeddah is expected to open in 2028, joining a Hotel Indigo resort also in Jeddah, opening in 2026, and a Riyadh hotel in 2025.
