Minister Bartlett welcomes JetBlue flights to Jamaica
Jamaican tourism minister, Edmund Bartlett, has welcomed an announcement by JetBlue Airways that the company will be expanding its operations to the Caribbean destination with the addition of new flights. The expanded service will see the introduction of two daily non-stop flights between Kingston and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

JetBlue Airways’ chief commercial officer Robin Hayes has confirmed the airline intends to grow services from Jamaica from next spring. The development is the latest coup for Jamaica, which was recently recognised as the Caribbean’s Leading Destination by the prestigious World Travel Awards.

Multi-platinum, five-time Grammy award-winning singer Celine Dion is set to headline the 16th Annual Jamaica Jazz and Blues Art of Music Festival. The event is set to crown a fine 12 months for Jamaica, with the island having been recognised as the Caribbean’s Leading Destination by the prestigious World Travel Awards in October.
Jamaica outlines Americas initiative to boost visitor numbers
Jamaica will shortly be launching a major partnership with a number of countries in Latin and Central America to ensure that tourism flow into the island remains high. In making the disclosure, tourism minister, Edmund Bartlett, said discussions regarding the multi-nation partnerships started during the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, UNWTO which took place in South Korea last month.
