The trial of two men accused of killing British teenager Scarlett Keeling has been halted for the second time in a week in Goa. The case was adjourned following a decision by the judge hearing the case that Goa children’s court would start hearing evidence on alternate afternoons from April 5th.

Premier Inn has unveiled plans to open ten budget hotels in India over the next five years in response to the expansion of the business travel market in the region, and follows the opening of its first in Bangalore last week. It also plans a further nine hotels in India by 2014.

The sharp falls in tourist numbers to India have levelled out, according to the tourism minister. Kumari Selja said tourist numbers had dropped by 7% to 4.2m in the 10 months to October compared to the same period last year. Foreign earnings however have risen and are up by 4.1% over the same period.
