Hyatt completes payment card incident investigation
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has completed its investigation of the previously announced payment card incident. The investigation identified signs of unauthorized access to payment card data from cards used onsite at certain Hyatt-managed locations, primarily at restaurants, between August 13, 2015 and December 8, 2015.
New appointment for Hyatt
Philippe Roux-Dessarps has been appointed vice president of global brands in support of Hyatt’s brand priorities and growth strategies. In this role, Roux-Dessarps will oversee the Park Hyatt brand, reporting to Sandra Cordova Micek, senior vice president of global brands.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has identified malware on computers that operate the payment processing systems for Hyatt-managed locations. The company launched an investigation and has engaged leading third-party cyber security experts. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be posted online.

Grand Hyatt set for Kuwait 2020 opening
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a contract with Tamdeen Group to develop a 261-room Grand Hyatt hotel in Kuwait. Hilton and Hyatt plan dual hotel at The Wharf
Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels Corporation will open a 413-key dual-branded hotel at The Wharf. Canopy by Hilton, a 120,000-square-foot lifestyle brand hotel, will have 175 keys, and Hyatt House, a 145,000-square-foot extended-stay hotel, will have 238 keys.
Hyatt Place Los Cabos reopens in Mexico
Hyatt Place Los Cabos in Baja California Sur, Mexico has reopened in Los Cabos after suffering extensive damage following last year’s passage of Hurricane Odile. The 157-room hotel underwent a $7.6 million reconstruction, including a redesigned lobby and new terrace with unobstructed views of the ocean.
Hyatt Place set to debut in Australia
The Hyatt Place hotel in Melbourne is set to open in 2017 opening, marking the brand’s debut in Australia. The eight-story, upscale select service hotel will offer the brand’s signature spacious rooms, which will each feature a Cozy Corner, a 42” flat screen TV, and a comfortable bed.
Hyatt Place Jermuk opens in Armenia
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Jersan LLC have announced the opening of Hyatt Place Jermuk, just steps away from the heart of Jermuk’s city center. Hyatt Place Jermuk marks the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Armenia and the third Hyatt Place hotel in Europe, joining Hyatt Place Yerevan and Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport.
