Scottish government offers support to Heathrow expansion
Minister in the Scottish government have offered their support to the plan to add a third runway at Heathrow Airport, pointing to significant strategic and economic benefits for Scotland. The UK government at Westminster has repeatedly delayed a decision on the expansion, with a second runway at Gatwick Airport also under consideration.
Club Aspire set to welcome business travellers to Heathrow
Airport Lounge Development and Swissport are to launch an exciting new lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3 in response to a significant increase in demand for lounge access from business travellers. ‘Club Aspire’ will open to the public in October 2016, with travel agents and airline providers already able to make bookings for customers to use the lounge.
Delta Air Lines moves to London Heathrow Terminal 3
From today all Delta Air Lines flights from London will operate from Heathrow Terminal 3. In total, Delta operates 11 daily flights non-stop to eight US cities from Heathrow. These include departures to New York-JFK, Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Boston, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia and Seattle.
Delta Air Lines to move to Terminal 3 at London Heathrow
Delta Air Lines will operate exclusively from London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 3, effective September 14th, 2016. Delta and Virgin Atlantic will now operate from the same terminal making it easier for customers to manage their travel plans including any last-minute flight changes. Delta will transfer its Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and Philadelphia flights from Terminal 4 to join its services to New York-JFK, Boston and Seattle that already operate from Terminal 3.

The contemporary new-look lounge has been meticulously designed to offer complimentary services to refresh and revitalize, including 29 spa-like shower rooms with complimentary C.O. Bigelow toiletries, and an express clothes pressing service.
Arora Group signs on for Heathrow Terminal 2 luxury hotel
The Arora Group has been granted planning permission to develop a new hotel at London Heathrow. The new hotel is part of the on-going strategy to focus on larger assets with high revenue potential; it has been granted planning permission to develop a new hotel at London Heathrow with direct access to the Queen’s Terminal, Terminal 2.
Heathrow claims political backing for third runway
In the first poll of British members of parliament since the Brexit vote in June, 76 per cent of parliamentarians agree that an expanded Heathrow is important to keep Britain connected to the world post-Brexit. The airport claims this demonstrates continued cross-party majority support for an expanded Heathrow.
Passenger increases continue at London Heathrow
A total of 35.7 million passengers used Heathrow in first six months of 2016, up 0.6 per cent from the same period of last year. At the same time, cargo volumes increased 1.7 per cent. John Holland-Kaye, chief executive officer of Heathrow, said: “As the UK’s biggest port, we are supporting businesses from every corner of Britain to get their products to global markets, with cargo volumes up by almost 2 per cent.”

Heathrow has launched its first ever television campaign ‘First Flight’ to celebrate 70 years of flight at the airport. Set to David Bowie’s ‘When I Live My Dream’, the airport’s advert tells the story of the magic of a journey as seen through the eyes of a five-year-old girl with her companion, Owly.
Peake welcomed back to London Heathrow
British ESA astronaut Tim Peake landed at Heathrow from Houston earlier for the first time in seven months following his six-month trip to the International Space Station. To celebrate his safe landing back to earth and to welcome him home to the UK, Heathrow has today unveiled Tim as one of the iconic welcome posters which will be viewed by 75 million passengers a year.
Avis Budget UK expands operations at London Heathrow
Avis Budget UK has launched its on-terminal car rental service at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2, in a significant move for its UK operations. This unique service is already available at Terminal 5. This multi-year partnership will enable Avis Budget UK to deliver an express plane to car service for customers, currently making it the only car rental provider to offer this at both terminals, so that Avis customers will enjoy a five minute walk to their rental vehicle as an alternative to travelling by shuttle bus to the main Avis station.
