National Car Rental signs on as sponsor to PGA America
National Car Rental and the PGA of America have announced the renewal of their partnership at the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show, extending National’s designation as an official partner and the official rental car of the PGA of America. As a partner of the PGA of America, National joins a select group of companies that provide significant, broad-based support of the association, its championships and membership programs.

Gleneagles unveils hotel renovation plans
The Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire, is to invest £1.1million in refurbishing its bedrooms, as part of an ongoing programme of upgrades. In the coming months, 36 of the five star hotel’s 232 bedrooms will be given a new look by designers Greyline, who were responsible for the redesign of an additional 36 rooms, completed in 2014. The current improvements will include bespoke carpets from Wilton Carpets; a collection of the finest soft furnishings and wall coverings from companies including Osborne & Little and Harlequin, and designer light fittings from Heathfield.

Golf’s European Tour welcomes Hilton as global partner
The European Tour and Hilton Worldwide has announced that the world’s largest hospitality company is to become the sporting body’s official worldwide hotel supplier. Building on Hilton’s rich history of sporting association and diverse locations across 93 countries, the deal welcomes Hilton into the stable of European Tour global partners for three years, beginning in 2015.

Jumeirah Golf Estates to launch London sale with Fine & Country Golf
European Tour Destination Jumeirah Golf Estates is holding its first property exhibition in association with Fine & Country Golf on December 11th-12th of 2014 at Fine & Country’s Park Lane showroom in Mayfair, London. The exhibition will showcase a portfolio of elite properties for sale within Jumeirah Golf Estates, including the launch of Redwood, a new collection of premium townhouses and villas located in the centre of the community.

The Els Club Teluk Datai recognised by World Golf Awards
Ernie Els’ Malaysian masterpiece, The Els Club Teluk Datai, has been named the ‘World’s Best New Golf Course’ at the inaugural World Golf Awards, hosted in Portugal. Just two weeks after its official grand opening, the four-time Major winner’s stunning Langkawi layout, which sits amidst a tropical rainforest stretching to the shores of the Andaman Sea, scooped the much-coveted accolade, voted upon by golf travel executives and members of the media.

Inaugural World Golf Awards winners celebrate at Conrad Algarve, Portugal
Portugal has taken the title of World’s Best Golf Destination at the inaugural World Golf Awards, hosted this evening at the Conrad Algarve. The only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in the golf hospitality industry, the event also saw St Andrews Links - Old Course recognised as the World’s Best Golf Course, while The Els Club Teluk Datai was awarded the honour of World’s Best New Golf Course.

The season-ending grand finale is the culmination of the 2014 Challenge Tour season which takes in 27 tournaments played across 21 different countries offering a total prize fund of €6,328,000.
