Sir Nick Faldo takes top title at World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony 2016
Sir Nick Faldo has led winners at the World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony 2016, taking the prestigious title of Golf Course Designer of the Year. Also celebrating was England’s The Belfry, recognised as Europe’s Best Golf Hotel, while Quinta do Lago took the title of Europe’s Best Golf Venue. Hundreds of thousands of ballots were cast ahead of the Gala Ceremony, which was this year hosted by the Conrad Algarve in Portugal.

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of Waldorf Astoria Golf Experiences, a collection of once-in-a-lifetime packages that pair the most elite golf experiences with luxury accommodation at select Waldorf Astoria hotels beginning in August. The annual programme will visit new destinations each year, with the inaugural year debuting at four properties: Waldorf Astoria Chicago, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh, Waldorf Astoria New York, and Waldorf Astoria Orlando.
Hotel Camiral set to launch at PGA Catalunya Resort in September
The team behind the world-leading PGA Catalunya Resort have confirmed that a new five-star hotel will officially open at the resort in September, following an investment of €33 million. Hotel Camiral is set in the grounds of the scenic 300-hectare resort, on the doorstep of Girona and Barcelona, and will be a welcome addition to the five-star facilities currently on offer at PGA Catalunya Resort.

Further acquisition for Celtic Manor Resort
The Celtic Manor Resort has exchanged contracts to acquire a 148 guest room property which is currently trading as Hilton Newport. The acquisition will add to Celtic Manor’s portfolio of guest residences which include the main Resort Hotel, the Manor House, the Newbridge on Usk, and ten luxury Hunter Lodges.
