Fairmont plans hotels in Morocco and Saudi Arabia
Luxury operator Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has signed two new luxury hotel developments in Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The two new projects include Fairmont Taghazout Bay, Morocco and Fairmont Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, which are both scheduled to open before 2020.
Fairmont Costa Canuva planned for 2018 opening in Mexico
Luxury hotel operator Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Mota-Engil Tourismo has announced the development of a new 250-room luxury hotel and additional private residences along the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico. The sparkling new Fairmont Costa Canuva is slated to open in late 2018 and will reside within the new master-planned seaside community, Costa Canuva, on the Riviera Nayarit.
Geoghegan takes up business development role at Fairmont St Andrews
Fairmont St Andrews, the luxury five-star hotel, has increased its presence in London with the appointment of Luke Geoghegan as business development manager. His remit is to develop agency relationships and business across the capital and south of England. Geoghegan joins from Stoke Park where he was head of membership, as well as holding prior roles in the five-star hospitality sector.
FRHI Hotels & Resorts debuts Neqta brand in China
FRHI Hotels & Resorts, in a joint venture with China’s Jiangsu Golden Land Group, has announced the debut of Neqta Hotels, a new brand and hotel portfolio consisting of upper mid-scale hotels located in some of the most in-demand destinations across China. The inaugural hotel to fly the Neqta flag opened in Shanghai’s Xuhui District earlier this month, close to the city’s World Expo site, and a second state-of-the-art hotel is expected to debut soon in Nanjing.
Elder steps up at Fairmont St Andrews
Fairmont St Andrews has appointed Stewart Elder as director of banqueting and events at Scotland’s five-star resort. Having worked at the hotel since 2009, Stewart takes on the new role from his previous position as director of group sales.

AccorHotels to acquire FRHI for $2.9bn in cash and shares deal
AccorHotels has signed an agreement for the acquisition of FRHI Holdings, parent of the Fairmont, Raffles, and Swissôtel brand. “This is an outstanding opportunity to add three prestigious brands – Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel – to our portfolio, and a great step forward for AccorHotels,” said Sébastien Bazin, chairman, AccorHotels.
Fairmont reveals plans for La Marina Rabat-Salé in Morocco
Luxury hotel brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Abu Dhabi-based private real estate investment company Eagle Hills, have announced the development of a new luxury hotel in Morocco, Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé. The 200-room hotel, set to open in 2019, will be located in La Marina Morocco, a coastal mixed-use development located between Rabat and the ancient city of Salé.

Fairmont St Andrews will undertake a multi-million pound interior refurbishment programme over the next 18 months to further elevate its prestigious facilities. The capital investment will mean stunning new interiors for all of the public areas as well as all bathrooms and suites.
Fairmont to open hotel in Abuja
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will open a property in the Nigerian capital of Abuja in 2019. The 270-room Fairmont Abuja will be located in the city’s central business district, 30 kilometres from Nnamdi Azikiwe airport and close to the International Conference Centre.
Fairmont Ajman opens in United Arab Emirates
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Fairmont Ajman in the United Arab Emirates. Located in the land of perennial sunshine, this beachfront resort is located in the smallest of the seven Emirates, is flanked by a pristine beach and has unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf.
