Fairmont set to Open Seven New Hotels Across the Globe in 2010
Throughout 2010, Fairmont will open seven distinctive new hotels in growing markets around the globe. While most are newly developed properties, Fairmont will also throw open the doors at two of the world’s most celebrated addresses: The Savoy in London and the Peace Hotel in Shanghai.

Fairmont adds new jewels along the ancient Silk Road
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts today announced the official opening of three new properties along the ancient path of the silk road. Fairmont Nile City, in Cairo, Egypt; Fairmont Yangcheng Lake in Kunshan, China and Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, all officially opened the doors to guests today.
World Travel Awards Winners Revealed
Cozumel, Europcar, Anthony Travel, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Mexicana were among the names of travel and tourism bodies which triumphed at the World Travel Awards North and Central America regional ceremony, last night. The ceremony, which was staged in the luxurious Hacienda Tres Rios in Mexico, attracted senior management and decision makes from across the region. The awards, described by the Wall Street Journal as the Oscar’ of the global travel and tourism industry, unveiled who were the best of the best in the region.
Fairmont St Andrews reopens after £17m renovation
The Torrance golf course at Scotland’s incredible Fairmont St Andrews has just reopened following a redesign, as part of a £17 million renovation programme of the resort facilities. The course will be hosting the Scottish Senior Open from 21-23 August, with designer Sam Torrance among those vying for the title.

Guests at the Fairmont Monte Carlo can now watch Lewis Hamilton driving round the famous hairpin bends whilst indulging in a pedicure with the opening of a new spa facility, which comes as part of a €45m refurbishment of the hotel.Drenched in the colours of glittering principality, this newest Willow Stream Spa aims to capture the sea-inspiring energy of the Mediterranean. It comes complete with eight generously-sized treatment rooms and a manicure/pedicure nail spa all awash in the deepest of sea greens and aquamarine to the coolest of sapphire and cyan.
Fairmont plans China debut
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is preparing to open its first hotel in China. The Fairmont Beijing, scheduled to officially open in the summer of 2009, is located in Yong An Li in the heart of Beijing’s downtown district.
Fairmont Pacific Rim announce new hotels
The Fairmont Pacific Rim is scheduled to open in 2010 and is in Coal Harbour, boarded by Gastown on the east, the financial district on the south and the Burrard Inlet to the north. The hotel will include 415 rooms and 200 residential condos with an unrivalled location adjacent to the Vancouver Conference Centre expansion.

HBA / Hirsch Bedner Associates, designers of the new Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, are set to revive a second landmark heritage property on the city’s iconic Bund waterfront. The hospitality design consultancy has been appointed by Hilton Hotels Corporation to transform the former Shanghai Club at No. 2 The Bund into the Waldorf Astoria On The Bund Shanghai.

Faimont announce second project in India
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced its second project in India, Fairmont Jaipur. Scheduled to open in 2010, the hotel, located in Rajasthan in the northwest of India, joins Fairmont Hyderabad, the brand’s first foray into the Indian market. The property is being developed by Capricorn Hospitality Investments India.
