Saudi Arabia’s new global airline RIA has approached Etihad’s Tony Douglas to be its new CEO. Industry sources say Douglas – who has been in charge of Etihad since January 2018 – is RIA’s “top choice”. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) which is pumping $30bn into the new airline, is believed to be confident of securing Douglas to head up the new operation.

Etihad Airways will be making travel to the United States more convenient this winter by increasing flights to New York. From 15 November, Etihad will add four weekly flights on the Abu Dhabi – New York route, providing a total of 11 weekly nonstop services to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
