Etihad Airways expands Jet Airways codeshare deal
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced a major expansion of its codeshare agreement with Jet Airways, offering travellers enhanced connections throughout India, and linking India with even more destinations worldwide. The two airlines have obtained regulatory approval to codeshare on 43 additional routes, bringing the total number of services in their codeshare agreement to 71.
FIFA World Cup 2014: Etihad to bring passengers every game live
Passengers on board Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, can enjoy every FIFA World Cup football match ‘live’ on all of the air carrier’s long haul aircraft during the month long tournament, the globe’s biggest sporting event. All 64 games will be transmitted live at 30,000 feet on the airline’s modern, wide-bodied fleet of planes by IMG Media using Etihad Airways’ state-of-the-art interactive inflight entertainment system, E-box, powered by Panasonic technology.
Etihad Airways withdraws from Skytrax
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has sent a letter to Skytrax formally announcing its decision to withdraw from the organisation. A statement from the airline said the decision included participation in the Skytrax World Airline Awards and the Skytrax Audit.
Etihad confirms Alitalia deal after months of negotiations
Etihad Airways has finalised the conditions it requires for a major investment in Italian airline Alitalia following months of negotiations. While a brief statement from Etihad releases no financial information, but in a televised interview earlier the Italian transport minister said the Abu Dhabi-based carrier was ready to invest around €600 million in the struggling Alitalia.
Etihad Airways celebrates Greek connection
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and codeshare partner Aegean Airlines, are celebrating five years of Etihad Airways’ non-stop services between Athens and Abu Dhabi, and the start of Aegean’s new direct flights to the UAE capital. Etihad Airways commenced operations to Athens in June 2009, and since then has carried almost 400,000 guests and nearly 3,700 tonnes of cargo on the route.
Emirates celebrates as Real Madrid pick up tenth European Cup
Real Madrid have secured a tenth European Cup with a 4-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Final. Their victory is being celebrated by their sponsorship-partner Emirates Airline. Last year, Emirates Airline and Real Madrid signed a five year shirt sponsorship deal of the club until the end of the 2017/2018 season.
Etihad Regional launches five new routes from Zurich
Etihad Regional has announced it will introduce five new routes expanding the airline’s operations out of Zurich to eight destinations. Building on its network expansion strategy, Etihad Regional will commence daily services from Zurich to Linz (Austria), Lyon (France) and Verona (Italy).
Etihad Airways moves into Hamad International Airport
Etihad Airways has announced the airline’s four daily passenger flights from Abu Dhabi to Doha will now operate from the new Hamad International Airport. Freighter operations to the new airport will commence from May 18th.
Etihad Regional takes off for first time from Zurich
Etihad Regional has commenced a three-times-per-week service from Zurich, Switzerland, to Turin, the capital of the Piedmont region of Italy. The airline officially celebrated the occasion today when flight F7498, operated by Etihad Regional’s newly branded 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft, touched down at Turin Airport at 08:40 local time.

Etihad reveals new First Class product to redefine aviation luxury
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has unveiled the new product and service offering on its Airbus A380 and Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft, including The Residence by Etihad, the world’s most luxurious living space in the air, available only on the airline’s A380 aircraft. The Residence will be the breath-taking and completely new forward upper-deck cabin on the A380. Accommodating single or double occupancy, it features a living room, separate double bedroom and en-suite shower room. Customers in The Residence will also have a personal butler.
