Etihad Airways boosts services to South Africa
Etihad Airways has confirmed it is planning changes to its schedule between Abu Dhabi and Johannesburg, effective October 26th 2014. Etihad Airways is comfortable with the process of review by Switzerland’s Federal Office of Civil Aviation concerning the agreement to acquire 33.3 per cent of Darwin Airline. Etihad Airways was advised in June by FOCA that changes to the agreement would be needed to secure regulatory approval.

Etihad Airways and Alitalia have announced that they have signed the transaction implementation agreement which will result in a €1,758 million investment to build a reinvigorated Alitalia as a competitive, sustainably profitable business. The recapitalised Italian national airline will now be able to invest in a comprehensive strategic business plan which will see new long-haul routes from Rome and Milan, a revitalized brand, and a greater focus on Italian tourism and trade promotion.

Etihad expands code-share deal with Jet Airways
Jet Airways and Etihad Airways have outlined plans to reinforce their long-term commitment to the growth of India’s economy and aviation industry, including a major new turnaround strategy for Jet Airways to return to profitability in three years. The two airlines have been codeshare partners since 2008 and their relationship was strengthened in November 2013, after Etihad Airways received approvals to acquire a 24 per cent stake in Jet Airways, marking it the first investment by a foreign carrier in India’s airline industry.
Etihad expands code-share deal with Air Malta
Air Malta and Etihad Airways have expanded their code-share agreement to provide travellers with improved connections between Europe, the GCC region and Australia. Etihad Airways reveals plans for San Francisco service
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will expand its United States network to six destinations with the launch of a San Francisco service on November 18th 2014. Daily flights will be operated to San Francisco International Airport using a three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft leased from its strategic partner Jet Airways, offering a total of eight seats in First Class, 30 seats in Business Class and 308 seats in Economy Class.
Etihad plans daily flights to Brisbane
Etihad Airways is planning to operate daily non-stop flights between Brisbane and Abu Dhabi from 1 June 2015. The flights will be operated by Etihad Airways’ new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring the airline’s ground-breaking next generation product – First Suite, Business Studio and Economy Smart Seat. The three-class B787 will enable the airline to offer First Class on the Brisbane–Abu Dhabi route.
