Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliners resume services
Qatar Airways has resumed its Boeing 787 services after a worldwide grounding of the aircraft in January. The airline’s first Boeing 787 to be redeployed operated flight QR116 from Doha to Dubai.
Japan Airlines confirms June return for Boeing 787
JAL Group has confirmed its Boeing 787-8 aircraft will return to service in sequence after June 1st 2013 after safety tests have been completed on the modified planes. Boeing has been working around the world to install modified ion batteries on the 50 Dreamliner aircraft currently in operation after being given the go ahead by aviation authorities.
All Nippon Airways Dreamliner flights to resume in June
All Nippon Airways has confirmed it will resume Boeing Dreamliner flights in June after the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau issued a revised Technical Circular Directive for the plane. ANA is the largest operator of the aircraft in the world, with a fleet of 17 Boeing 787s.
Ethiopian Airlines 787 Dreamliner takes flight
An Ethiopian Airlines 787 Dreamliner has taken off from Addis Ababa, marking the first commercial flight by the Boeing aircraft since all 787s were grounded due to battery malfunctions.

Boeing has a comprehensive set of improvements that will add several layers of additional safety features to the lithium-ion batteries on 787 commercial jetliners are in production and could be ready for initial installation within the next few weeks. New enclosures for 787 batteries also are being built and will be installed in airplanes in the weeks ahead.

Boeing has received approval from the Unites States Federal Aviation Administration to test and certify improvements to the 787 Dreamliner battery system. Successful completion of each step within the plan will result in the FAA’s approval to resume commercial 787 flights.

All Nippon Airways has said it will cancel all Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights until at least the end of May. The decision means a further 1,700 flights will be cancelled as Boeing seeks to return the plane to skies.
