Hainan Airlines takes delivery of first Dreamliner
Boeing and Hainan Airlines today celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. The delivery is the first of ten 787s for Hainan Airlines. “Today is a great day for Hainan Airlines as the most technologically advanced and fuel efficient airplane in the world joins our fleet,” said Mu Weigang, vice chairman of Hainan Airlines.
Norwegian introduces Android powered in-flight system to Dreamliner
Norwegian and Panasonic Avionics Corporation have joined forces to develop the first ever Android powered in-flight entertainment system. Norwegian’s passengers will be able to use select Android apps that are pre-loaded onto the system, providing an in-flight experience similar to the on-the-ground experience travellers have become accustomed to with their personal devices.
Norwegian welcomes Dreamliner to Oslo
Norwegian’s first 787 Dreamliner has touched down at Oslo Airport Gardermoen ahead of launch into service. “It’s fantastic that we have taken delivery of our very first Dreamliner and that it can finally enter into service,” said Norwegian chief executive Bjørn Kjos.
Heathrow welcomes industry progress in noise reduction
The aviation industry’s commitment to reducing the impact of aircraft noise took another step forward at Heathrow earlier, with the arrival of British Airways’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft boasts a noise footprint 60 per cent quieter than similarly sized aircraft and will be the fourth B787 to operate out of Heathrow.

The airline is planning to serve Toronto with the 787 from September 1st and Newark, New York from October 1st, subject to regulatory approval.

Boeing has announced at the Paris Air Show a memorandum of understanding with Air Lease Corporation to purchase 33 airplanes. The Los Angeles-based leasing company has committed to order three 787-9 and 30 787-10X Dreamliners.
Aeromexico prepares for Dreamliner delivery
Aeromexico has confirmed it will take delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in the first half of August this year. The move mean the carrier will become the first Mexican carrier to operate the airline industry’s most current and equipped aircraft.

British Airways to take delivery of A380 and Boeing Dreamliner
British Airways is poised to become the first airline in Europe to introduce both the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 787 into its fleet. The airline will take delivery into the UK of its first two 787s on consecutive days, June 26th and 27th, followed by its first A380 on July 4th.
China Southern Airlines takes delivery of first Dreamliner
Boeing and China Southern Airlines have celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first 787 Dreamliner. China Southern is the first Chinese airline to take delivery of the airplane. “Today’s 787 delivery represents a significant new milestone in the strengthening partnership between Boeing and China,” said Ray Conner, president and chief executive of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Thomson takes delivery of first UK Dreamliner
Boeing and Thomson Airways has announced the delivery today of the airline’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The airplane, the first of eight 787s Thomson Airways has on order, is the first to be delivered to a UK airline.
