Boeing and Hainan Airlines today celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. The delivery is the first of ten 787s for Hainan Airlines. “Today is a great day for Hainan Airlines as the most technologically advanced and fuel efficient airplane in the world joins our fleet,” said Mu Weigang, vice chairman of Hainan Airlines.

Norwegian and Panasonic Avionics Corporation have joined forces to develop the first ever Android powered in-flight entertainment system. Norwegian’s passengers will be able to use select Android apps that are pre-loaded onto the system, providing an in-flight experience similar to the on-the-ground experience travellers have become accustomed to with their personal devices.

Star of stage and screen, Kim Cattrall, who was born in England, grew up in Canada and lives in the US, today began the countdown for customers to book flights on British Airways’ first Boeing 787, which is due to arrive at its new Heathrow home today. The airline is planning to serve Toronto with the 787 from September 1st and Newark, New York from October 1st, subject to regulatory approval.
