Japanese carriers ground Dreamliners after emergency landing
All Nippon Airways has grounded its fleet of 17 Boeing 787 Dreamliners after flight NH692 from Yamaguchi Ube was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after take-off. Japan Airlines has followed suit, confirming it would ground its fleet of seven 787s from 16 January until further notice.
New Dreamliner investigation launched in Japan
Officials at the Japanese transport ministry have launched an investigation into what caused two fuel leaks on Dreamliner aircraft operated by Japan Airlines earlier this month. The decision follows an announcement by the Federal Aviation Administration that it would launch a similar investigation.
Qatar Airways expands Dreamliner operations
In a rare piece of good news for the beleaguered Dreamliner, Qatar Airways has embarked on its Boeing 787 European expansion with the deployment of the next generation aircraft on three additional routes – Munich, Zurich and Frankfurt. The news comes as the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States launches a review into the safety of the aircraft following a series of incidents.
FAA orders Dreamliner safety review following incidents
Officials at the American Federal Aviation Administration have ordered a review of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner after a series of incidents cast doubt over the reliability of the plane. The review will look at the design and manufacture of the plane, which was launched in 2011.

Japan Airlines has been forced to cancel a takeoff from Logan Airport in Boston after fuel was found to have leaked from a Dreamliner aircraft. The incident on Tuesday follows a fire onboard another Dreamliner on Monday.

A Boeing Dreamliner operated by Japan Airlines has caught fire in Boston following a flight from Tokyo. There are no reports of injuries following the incident onboard the Boeing 787, with all passengers and crew having already disembarked.
Aeromexico firms up Dreamliner order with Boeing
Boeing and Aeromexico have finalised an order for six 787-9 Dreamliners, with reconfirmation rights for four additional Dreamliners. The order by Mexico’s largest airline, which was first announced as a commitment in July, is valued at more than $1.46 billion at published list prices.
Qatar Airways brings Boeing Dreamliner to London for first time
Qatar Airways has launched its inaugural long-haul Boeing 787 Dreamliner service on the Doha – London Heathrow route, becoming the first airline to operate regular scheduled flights with the state-of-the art aircraft to and from the UK. Despite wintry weather, Qatar Airways’ 787 – flight QR075 – was warmly welcomed at London Heathrow by a special arrival ceremony.
British Airways unveils seating plans for new aircraft
With the first of the airline’s new long-haul aircraft only six months away from delivery, British Airways has announced the cabin design and layout for its Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 aircraft. Two hundred and fourteen customers will enjoy the comforts of the new British Airways Dreamliner and the A380 will be the largest aircraft in the British Airways fleet, with 469 customers.

The state-of-the-art aircraft is being deployed on four daily rotations between the two cities marking a new era for Middle East aviation as Qatar Airways is the Boeing 787 launch customer in the region.
Avianca Airlines boosts Dreamliner order
Colombia’s flagship airline, Avianca Airlines, has announced an order for three 787 Dreamliners from Boeing. The order was previously attributed to an unidentified customer on Boeing’s Orders & Deliveries website and is valued at approximately $620 million at published list prices.
