EVA Air signs codeshare deal with Star Alliance partner Avianca
EVA Air has announced the initiation of a code-share agreement with fellow Star Alliance member, Avianca, making travel between Asia and Central America much more convenient for both the airlines’ passengers. The new code-share agreement will enable EVA Air’s passengers to connect through Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco to connect with Avianca flights to San Salvador, while Avianca’s passengers will be able to connect through the same US airports for flights to Taipei.

Farnborough 2016: Avianca-owner Synergy places 62 Airbus A320neo order
Synergy Aerospace Corporation, largest shareholder of Colombia-based Avianca and owner of Avianca Brazil, has finalised a purchase agreement with Airbus for 62 A320neo family aircraft. These A320neo will be the base of the fleet renewal and network growth strategy for Avianca Brazil, and also mark over 1,000 Airbus aircraft sold in Latin America.

Etihad Airways signs codeshare deal with Avianca Brasil
Etihad Airways and Avianca Brasil, one of the leading airlines in Latin America, have announced a codeshare partnership. Under the agreement, Etihad Airways will put its ‘EY’ code on domestic flights operated by Avianca Brasil, while Avianca Brasil will put its ‘O6’ code on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and São Paulo.

Avianca inks deal with Amadeus
Avianca is becoming the launch customer for Amadeus Anytime Merchandising, in order to improve the customer experience through personalised offers and services, while developing a new revenue opportunity for the airline. Amadeus Anytime Merchandising, which is compliant with IATA’s NDC standard, helps airlines engage their customers at decisive moments during their journey, such as the searching and booking phase, when at the airport, during the flight, at the hotel and many more.

Etihad Airways signs codeshare deal with Avianca
Etihad Airways and Avianca, one of Latin America’s leading airlines, have announced a new codeshare partnership. Under the agreement, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates will place its ‘EY’ code on Avianca operated flights between Bogota and London Heathrow and Madrid Barajas, while Avianca will place its ‘AV’ code on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and London and Madrid.

UK visitor numbers to Colombia up by a quarter
ProColombia has seen UK visitor numbers to Colombia increase by a massive 24 per cent in January-May this year. There were a total of 15,187 UK tourist arrivals compared with 12,258 in the same period in 2014. The huge increase follows an annual increase of 28.5 per cent year on year when comparing total UK visitor numbers for 2014 against 2013.

Avianca brings Boeing Dreamliner to European routes
Avianca has launched its new Boeing 787-8 aircraft on its routes to and from Europe. In a first phase, the Boeing 787 will operate some frequencies on the Bogotá-Madrid, Cali-Madrid and Medellín-Madrid routes.

Avianca goes daily on London-Bogotá route from July
Colombia’s national airline, Avianca, has announced that it will increase the frequency of its London to Bogota flight. Passengers wishing to fly from Heathrow to Colombia’s El Dorado International Airport will now have a choice of seven departures a week up from four.

Avianca Holdings transported 9.9 million passengers in 1st 5 months of 2013
Between January and May, the airlines affiliated with Avianca Holdings S.A. carried 9,903,363 passengers, a 9.5% increase compared to January-May 2012.
