UK visitor numbers to Colombia up by a quarter

ProColombia has seen UK visitor numbers to Colombia increase by a massive 24 per cent in January-May this year.

There were a total of 15,187 UK tourist arrivals compared with 12,258 in the same period in 2014.

The huge increase follows an annual increase of 28.5 per cent year on year when comparing total UK visitor numbers for 2014 against 2013.

UK holidaymakers are taking advantage of the excellent air links to Colombia with Avianca now operating seven direct flights a week to the Colombian Capital Bogota from London’s Heathrow.

The airline also recent partnered with World Travel Awards ahead of that organisations upcoming Latin America Gala Ceremony 2015, scheduled to take place in Bogotá in October.

Visitors can also fly indirectly to Colombia with a variety of quality airlines including KLM, Iberia, Air France and Tap Portugal.
