Boeing and All Nippon Airways have made aviation history as a 787 Dreamliner flew for the first time powered in part by sustainable biofuels. “The 787 is the most environmentally progressive jetliner flying today, combining fuel efficiency and comfort with reduced carbon emissions,” said Billy Glover, commercial airplanes vice president of environment and aviation policy.

After almost three years of delays, All Nippon Airways is inching ever closer to the launch of the new Boeing Dreamliner, confirming today the first passenger flight will take place on October 26th. The flight, between Narita International Airport in Tokyo and Hong Kong, will be followed by scheduled domestic services to Okayama and Hiroshima, before international services to Beijing and Frankfurt begin in 2012.

ANA has unveiled the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner at a Boeing facility in Everett, near Seattle, Washington, USA. To celebrate its status as launch customer for the state-of-the-art aircraft, ANA has decorated its first two Dreamliners with a special livery - including the numbers 787 painted in large bold colours on the front of the fuselage.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has confirmed it will operate the first passenger flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Narita International Airport in Tokyo. Delivery of the aircraft is due in September, with ANA expecting to operate the flight, bound for Hong Kong, approximant one month later.

ANA flights crews have completed pilot training in Seattle as they prepare to become the first captains of the 787 Dreamliner. Ten ANA pilots concluded their training after each pilot performed flights in ZA001 – the first 787 flight test airplane – over Washington state.

United Continental Holdings has signed a deal with Japanese carrier ANA to launch a new trans-Pacific joint venture. Under the terms of the deal United Airlines and partner airline Continental Airlines are set coordinate sales and marketing with ANA in order to improve benefits offered to each airline’s frequent flyers.
