Dreamliner set for Narita Airport launch

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has confirmed it will operate the first passenger flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Narita International Airport in Tokyo. Delivery of the aircraft is due in September, with ANA expecting to operate the flight, bound for Hong Kong, approximant one month later.

Boeing and All Nippon Airways have completed the 787 service ready operational validation in Japan. As part of the validation, ANA pilots flew the Dreamliner on routes from Seattle to Tokyo and Tokyo to four airports across Japan.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have began an important validation of their readiness for the 787 Dreamliner’s entry into service. Throughout the coming days, ANA pilots, together with Boeing, will fly a 787 on actual airline routes in Japan using airline dispatch and flight rules.

ANA flights crews have completed pilot training in Seattle as they prepare to become the first captains of the 787 Dreamliner. Ten ANA pilots concluded their training after each pilot performed flights in ZA001 – the first 787 flight test airplane – over Washington state.
