Alaska Airlines has launched a new mobile website, providing customers quick and easy access to their most important travel information from a mobile device. The site allows customers to track their Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan status, obtain mobile boarding passes for themselves and others travelling with them, and pay for checked bags, among other features.

Alaska Airlines inaugurated biofuel-powered passenger service this afternoon with two flights from Seattle to Washington, D.C., and Portland, Ore. Alaska and its sister carrier, Horizon Air, are operating 75 select flights between Seattle and the two cities over the next few weeks using a 20 percent blend of sustainable biofuel made from used cooking oil.

Alaska Airlines announced today it is expanding its service between San Diego and Hawaii with a daily nonstop flight to Honolulu. The service begins Nov. 17, 2011, and complements the airline’s existing daily nonstop flight between San Diego and Kahului, Maui, which started in October 2010.

Alaska Airlines’ Gogo® Inflight Internet service is now available on nearly all aircraft in its fleet. With the installation of the service scheduled for completion later this month, Alaska’s fleet will be 92 percent Wi-Fi equipped, which includes its 737-800 and –900 aircraft flying predominantly longer routes. Only seven of the airline’s 117 Boeing 737s will not offer Wi-Fi, including its freighter and combi (part-passenger/part-freight) aircraft and three 737-400s.
