Japan Airlines and Alaska Airlines expand codeshare deal
Japan Airlines and Alaska Airlines have agreed to expand their existing codeshare partnership, which will provide customers with an enhanced network to travel between Japan and cities in the US.
Alaska Airlines to connect Seattle and Pittsburgh
Alaska Airlines will add a non-stop, daily service between Seattle and Pittsburgh next autumn. This new service is currently the only non-stop flight offered from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Pittsburgh International Airport.

British Airways signs codeshare with Alaska Airlines
British Airways has launched a new codeshare agreement with Alaska Air, which builds on the existing frequent flyer programme partnership between the two carriers. The codeshare deal, which is effective from November 23, will enable customers to book connecting flights on Alaska Air routes at ba.com, to seven destinations on the West Coast of America, and three in Hawaii.

Japan Airlines and Alaska Airlines have announced plans to enter into a codeshare agreement and a frequent flier partnership, which will provide customers with an enhanced network and more mileage earning opportunities between Japan and the US Pacific Northwest. With Alaska Airlines’ extensive operations across California, Oregon, Idaho and Washington, JAL customers will have more flight options and access to new cities including Seattle and Portland.
Alaska Airlines to acquire Virgin America for $4bn
Alaska Air Group and Virgin America have confirmed that their boards of directors have unanimously approved a definitive merger agreement, under which Alaska Air Group will acquire Virgin America for $57.00 per share in cash. Including existing Virgin America indebtedness and capitalised aircraft operating leases, the aggregate transaction value is approximately $4 billion.
Port of Seattle to explore aviation biofuel options
The Port of Seattle, Alaska Airlines and Boeing are partnering to move toward a significant environmental goal: powering all flights by all airlines at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with sustainable aviation biofuel. Sea-Tac is the first United States airport to lay out a long-term roadmap to incorporate aviation biofuel into its infrastructure in a cost-effective, efficient manner.
Emirates signs codeshare with Alaska Airlines
Emirates has announced a new codeshare and lounge agreement with Alaska Airlines. Pending governmental approval, Emirates will begin marketing up to 300 daily Alaska Airlines flights, which will give customers the simplicity of purchasing connecting flights on both airlines using one reservation, and a seamless ticketing, check-in, boarding and baggage check experience during the entire journey.

Alaska Airlines and Icelandair have entered into a codeshare agreement and frequent flier partnership, which will give customers easier connections and more ways to earn benefits when flying between the US and Europe. With the new codeshare agreement, to take effect November 1st pending government approval, customers flying on Alaska Airlines and Icelandair will enjoy seamless reservations and ticketing, one-stop check-in, baggage checked to its final destination, coordinated flight schedules, the ability to earn miles and/or points on the reciprocal airline and consistent passenger service standards.
Sabre links with Alaska Airlines for sales technology upgrade
Sabre Corporation has been selected by Alaska Airlines to provide technology solutions to enable its retailing strategy in all sales channels, including through some of the carrier’s interline partner airlines. By late 2015, Sabre’s suite of solutions will give Alaska the ability to offer customers ancillary products and optional services through travel agencies and some interline airline partners.
