Yas Hotel prepares for Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Launched in October 2009 for Abu Dhabi’s inaugural Grand Prix, The Yas Hotel stands as a landmark icon against the bright lights of the city skyline.

The first hotel to have a Formula 1 racetrack running through it, The Yas Hotel offers its guests a unique opportunity to directly experience the high-octane thrill of the Grand Prix from the comfort of their bedrooms.

Juxtaposed with the sonic roar and dazzling velocity of the racetrack, the hotel is also bounded by a 143-berth luxury marina, thus guaranteeing guests an enviable 360 degree panorama.

The Yas Hotel boasts a vast range of luxurious suites, eight distinctive restaurants, and a sophisticated selection of bars, including Rush bar located on the bridge spanning the racetrack.

Spa Opening

Enhancing its allure will be the hotel’s new luxury spa featuring ten private treatment rooms, two pools, a sauna, steam rooms and a gym, fitted with Technogym equipment.

Staffed by highly skilled therapists, The Spa will offer a broad choice of ESPA treatments including Oriental head massages, lymphatic skin brushing, and Spearmint and Aloe body polishes.

Created by renowned New York design firm Richardson Sadeki, The Spa has been inspired by the restorative spaces of the traditional hamam in Islamic architecture. A cooler space at the northern end of the spa houses will feature refrigerated floors, creating a soothing respite from the heat of the Formula 1 tarmac.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

At the core of Yas Island’s attraction lies the Formula 1 racetrack.

Designed and conceived by New York architects Asymptote Architecture as an Arabian version of Monaco, the track speeds along the marina, through the hotel and the sand dunes, and boasts the longest straight on the Formula 1 calendar, which ends dramatically with a heavy braking chicane.

The only motorsports venue in the world where all the grandstands are covered, approximately 50,000 spectators can view the action on the circuit from the comfort of permanent grandstands and air-conditioned VIP facilities.

On November 14th, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will bring the 2010 Grand Prix season to a close, providing the grand finale to a year’s worth of glamour and high velocity.

Opening in October 2010 in time for this spectacle on Yas Island, Ferrari World will be the world’s first Ferrari theme park and largest attraction of its kind.

An intense multi-sensory experience and a must-visit for enthusiasts, fans and families, Ferrari World pays tribute to the passion, performance, and technical innovation that Ferrari has long embodied.

Spanning 200,000m2 and carrying the largest Ferrari logo ever created, its iconic sleek red roof continues the trend for ground-breaking design and architecture to which Yas Island already plays host.
