Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi has appointed Wayne Redman as director of group sales, Europe.

In his new role, Redman will be based in London and will be responsible for the management of all European MICE groups holding events at the 499-bedroom property, part of the luxury lifestyle Viceroy Hotel Group.

South African-born Redman brings a wealth of MICE industry expertise and most recently spent three years with Etihad Airways in their London office as MICE account manager commercial, overseeing the development of the airline’s MICE strategy and group product.

Part of this role also included building strategic relationships for Etihad with key ground partners including Abu Dhabi Tourism and Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, standing him in good stead for his new role.

Prior to this, Redman completed three years as account manager to an international inbound DMC in Cape Town, following five years with South African Airways in London as a key account manager for corporate, leisure and MICE which saw his involvement in events during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and British and Irish Lions Tour in 2009.
