Ferrari World prepares for grand opening

With the Commonwealth Games now over,  the public gaze moves to the next sporting extravaganza on the world stage – the opening of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. When the ribbon is cut later this month, the attraction will take its place as the largest indoor theme park in the world.

Under construction for the past five years, the attraction – the largest of its kind in the world – will open on October 27th, offering guests from around the world an unparalleled multi-sensory experience.

The park pays tribute to the passion, excellence, performance and technical innovation that Ferrari has established over the years and represents today. Its iconic sleek red roof is directly inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body, spanning 200,000 m2 and carrying the largest Ferrari logo ever created.

“The opening of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will revolutionise the way visitors and people in the region spend their leisure time,” said Mohammad Al Mubarak, chairman of the park’s operating company, Farah Leisure Parks Management.

“It is a great testament of Abu Dhabi’s capacity, and the region’s potential, as a world class tourist destination.”

The Park is located on Yas Island – itself set to become a global tourist destination with a wide range of accommodation and entertainment facilities - on the North East side of Abu Dhabi’s mainland.

Abu Dhabi, at the crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa, was chosen as the ideal location to build the Ferrari theme park, motor sports being extremely popular in the United Arab Emirates.

Indeed, the emirate will be hoping to repeat the sporting success of last year, when the Formula 1 season reaches its gripping climax at the Yas Marina Circuit on November 14th.

“Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will provide an enthralling experience that will appeal to all audiences, including families and enthusiasts,” said Claus Frimand, general manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

For the younger visitor, Speed of Magic comprises a fantasy 4-D journey following the adventures of a young boy as he travels through a kaleidoscopic dreamscape of natural and phenomenal environments, where no Ferrari has gone before.

V12 will wiz visitors on an exciting flume ride to the heart of a 12 cylinders engine, while G-Force will shoot thrill-seekers through the red roof and 62 meters in the air before plummeting back to Earth, experiencing the actual G-force of a Ferrari, in a seat directly inspired by the Ferrari Enzo.

An interactive theatre allowing guests to test their judgment in realistic racing scenarios is available at The Pit Wall, while the Racing Legends exhibit offers a ride through Ferrari’s greatest racing moments.

But that is just the start – only with a visit in person can guests get a feel for the true scale of the Ferrari World experience.
