Wyndham Hotels expands into Turkey with Istanbul property
Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the introduction of its namesake Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand to Turkey with the signing of an agreement to open the 306 room Wyndham Petek Istanbul.
The new five-star, 21-story Wyndham Petek Istanbul, scheduled to open in autumn 2012, will be conveniently situated less than seven kilometres from Istanbul Atatürk International Airport.
Hotel amenities will include a spa and fitness centre with four treatment rooms and a 130-square-metre indoor pool, as well as 13 meeting rooms and one ballroom together offering up to 3,000 square metres of conference and event space.
Guests staying in the hotel’s 306 guest rooms, including 24 suites and 40 extended stay apartments, will have access to 24-hour room service and all-day dining in the hotel’s on-site restaurant and bar.
Guests will also be able to take advantage of free transfers to and from the airport.
“Istanbul is a rapidly developing, vibrant city that serves as home to a growing number of companies as well as a rising number of international travellers,” said Eric Danziger, president and chief executive officer of Wyndham Hotel Group.
“The addition of this first Wyndham hotel in Turkey will not only help solidify our presence in this important market, but will also serve as a shining example of the high quality and personalized service associated with the Wyndham name around the world.”
Wyndham Petek Istanbul, which will be operated by Kilicbey Turizm and designed by acclaimed international architects Metex Design Group and Pyramid Architect Group, is part of a larger development in the area that will feature 11,000-square-metres of retail space and over 1,000 indoor parking spaces. The development of the upscale hotel is expected to create up to 200 new jobs in the region.
Wyndham Hotel Group has steadily grown its presence in the country, with seven hotels currently open and operating under the globally renowned Ramada brand.
