Tunisair launches London to Djerba

Tunisia’s national carrier Tunisair has launched a new service from London Gatwick to Djerba, 27 May 2010.

With prices starting from as little as £220 per person, return, the programme of two weekly departures to the southern island province opens the door for easy onward travel into the unique beauty of the Sahara.

This exciting development follows a successful 2009 for the country’s tourism industry, with official projections showing a substantial increase of 8.1% in UK visitors travelling to Tunisia from the UK, compared to 2008.

“Following the continued success of the London to Tunis route, the introduction of the new Djerba service is indicative of the growing interest in Tunisia from the British holidaymaker.” said Anissa Ramoundi, UK & Ireland Director, The Tunisian National Tourist Office.

“At only two and a half hours from the UK, providing excellent value for money outside of the Euro-zone and featuring a heady mix of culture, history and adventure, the Jewel of the Mediterranean is closer than you think.”
