TravelSupermarket.com sees visitors, deals and profits slide

Online deals amalgamation site TravelSupermarket.com has seen revenue fall seven per cent to £7.1 million in the six months to June 30th.

A total of 22.6 million unique users visit the site during the period, a fall of three per cent.

Transactions were also down 13 per cent, to 11.6 million.

Parent company, moneysupermarket.com, said in a statement: “The group’s package holidays channel continued to grow following continued investment and website optimisation.

“Car hire revenues held up well, linked in part to the success of the package holidays channel.

“However, flights and hotels more typically associated with discretionary expenditure and weekend travel continued to decline as these markets continued to weaken.”
