TAP Portugal appoints Aviareps its GSA

Aviareps today announced its appointment by TAP Portugal to manage the airline’s sales, marketing and ticketing activities in Turkey. With immediate effect the global aviation and tourism management company will be in charge of all future sales, marketing and ticketing activities to establish the brand within the new market and to promote the attractive range of flights offered by TAP Portugal. This new agreement marks the fourth collaboration after similar agreements for the Polish, Ukrainian and Russian markets.

Since March 2005, TAP Portugal has been a member of Star Alliance and benefits from numerous partner agreements. From its hub in Lisbon the Portuguese airline currently operates more than 1,850 flights per week and serves an extensive route network both within Europe and between Europe and Africa as well as South America.
For passengers based in Turkey, TAP Portugal offers seamless connections to Lisbon in close cooperation with Turkey’s leading national carrier Turkish Airlines. While daily flights connect Istanbul with Lisbon, the code share partner also provides feeder flights from Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Adana and Kayseri to Istanbul. Due to an additional partnership agreement with Lufthansa, feeder flights also connect Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya and Bursa with Frankfurt and Munich, from where TAP continues to its base in Lisbon.

From Lisbon, passengers can easily continue their journey by taking one of the numerous TAP flights to other destinations within Portugal and beyond. The leading Portuguese airline not only offers a strong route network within the country but also serves 19 destinations in Spain, nine in Brazil and eight in West Africa.

Founded in 1945, TAP Portugal is not only the leading airline in Portugal but also the leading carrier worldwide operating flights to Brazil. With its extensive route network the private airline currently serves 64 destinations in 30 countries worldwide. TAP Portugal furthermore maintains a modern and young fleet consisting of 51 state-of-the-art Airbus aircraft.

The airline was recently recognised by the World Travel Awards, named as the World’s Leading Airline to South America in 2010.
