Stapleton takes over at Royal Crescent Hotel
The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has announced the appointment of Jonathan Stapleton as its new general manager.
Under the ownership of Topland Group, the heritage hotel has recently undergone a significant renovation and meticulous restoration process, reopening its doors as a ‘British icon reborn’.
Topland Group, a privately owned international investment company with a substantial hotel portfolio, has invested heavily in The Royal Crescent Hotel to consolidate its positioning as one of the world’s leading five star hotels.
Stapleton joins The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa following a distinguished management career.
Having overseen multi-million pound refurbishment projects in Singapore, Scotland and the UK, he specialises in implementing high quality service levels, raising luxury standards, exceeding guest expectations and rebranding - achieving notable industry accolades as a result.
Most recently, Jonathan was general manager at Thermae Development.
Prior to this, Jonathan held the position of chief executive at Farncombe Estate where he consulted on establishing the estate as a leading UK hospitality brand.
In addition, Jonathan has been general manager at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland, which he established as the first AA and NITB 5 Star hotel in Northern Ireland, and The Old Course Hotel Golf Resort & Spa, which he established as one of only three AA 5 Red Star hotels in Scotland.
Stapleton also managed The Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments in London and Champneys Health Resort & Spa.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a Master Innholder.
He was president of the International Spa Association for Europe, Africa and Middle East from 1991 until 2001 and has made a number of additional standout industry contributions throughout his career.
