Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show set for UK return

With the Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show now just around the corner, further entertainment, brands and competitions added to the rooster.

With a range of new events, deals and competitions the 2014 Ski & Snowboard show is set to be bigger and better than ever.

The 2014 Show will host as a range of tour operators and chalet companies who will be on hand to advise those considering a ski holiday.

The Show will also offer visitors live freestyle ski demonstrations, insider tips from snow sports experts in the Mountain Talks Theatre, après bars, live music, Animal Bike Tour, 250 top brands, tour operators, chalet companies showcasing the best in winter sports and the chance to receive a free lift pass to a variety of resorts.

Among the highlights will be an appearance by Chemmy Alcott, Britain’s number one female alpine skier and four time Olympian.

Alcott agreed recently to become an ambassador for The Ski Club of Great Britain and will make a personal appearance on November 1st where she will be doing ski fitness challenges.

Club members will be able to take #preseason #selfies, get autographs and advice off this retired but not yet resting Olympian.

She started skiing as a toddler aged 18 months and began competing seriously at the age of eight.

From this committed early start to her career, Chemmy progressed and worked her way up to be ranked 8th in the world.

The North American market will also be well represented at the show, with Sun Peaks Resort in attendance. 

Representatives from the destination will be on hand to highlight the great new developments at the resort, which have added over 500 acres of slopes to the ski area, making it the second largest ski area in Canada.

Staff will be on hand to advise visitors on the new terrain as well as offer information on lodging and holiday options.

Jackson Hole will also bring a glimpse of the Wild West to London.

The resort in Wyoming, USA, has a reputation for gnarly, expert terrain, but recent developments have enhanced the beginner and intermediate slopes and staff manning the stands at both the shows will be able to offer visitors an insight into the excitement on offer to all levels of skiers and boarders in this stunning location.

Finally, if you’ve never set foot on a slope or you just want to brush up on skills ahead of the season, The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show London offer lessons for all abilities.

All equipment is provided, all you need to do is wear trousers, a long sleeved top and bring some gloves and loads of enthusiasm!

The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show North will takes place at EventCity, Manchester from October 24th-26th October 2014.

The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show London will then follow at Earls Court 2 from October 30th-November 2nd 2014. 

In London, ticket prices start at £9 for concessions and £12 for adults.
