Sixt expands management team as organisation continues to develop

The supervisory board of the mobility service provider Sixt has decided to extend the managing board from three to five members, with both Alexander Sixt and Konstantin Sixt appointed as new members effective.

Both already hold managing functions with the car rental company.

The board simultaneously extended the contract of chief executive Erich Sixt until 2020.

As the third generation at the helm, Erich Sixt has been leading the company since 1969.

The contracts with the managing board members Detlev Pätsch, who head up operations, and finance director Julian zu Putlitz are also being extended to secure a high level of leadership continuity.

As board member for organisation and strategy, Alexander Sixt will assume responsibility for the division’s group strategy, procurement, and process management, as well as the new mobility services such as DriveNow.

In addition, he will be responsible for global operative human resources, as well as the management of all shared service and administrative functions.

Konstantin Sixt will sign responsible for Sixt Car Rental’s national and international sales as well as the global E-Commerce business of the group.

Gunter Thielen, chairman of the supervisory board, said: “During the past few years Sixt has grown strongly and geared itself up for the mobility of the 21st century.

“The extension of the managing board is a logical consequence of this expansion.

“Over the past few years Alexander and Konstantin Sixt have provided numerous impulses to drive forward the strategic and operative development of the group.

“Their readiness to work in future at the top management level once more underscores the Sixt family’s firm commitment to the company.”
