Peak Hotels & Resorts purchases Aman Resorts

Peak Hotels & Resorts has agreed the purchase of Aman Resorts for $358 Million.

The Aman collection consists of 26 resort and villa properties located in Bhutan, Cambodia, China, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Montenegro, Morocco, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Turks and Caicos, the United States and Vietnam.

In 1988, Adrian Zecha opened Amanpuri, the first Aman property in Phuket, Thailand, in a beautiful coconut grove.

The 40-room Amanpuri Phuket was the launch of what was to become a globally recognised hospitality brand renowned for its gold-standard, five star level of hospitality within a collection of resorts and villas in coveted destinations around the globe.

Providing the ultimate travel lifestyle without limitations, each Aman property offers guests an authentically unique, intimate and localised experience based on the pillars of health and wellness, exceptional design and above and beyond service excellence.

Since 1998, Zecha has not been able to freely continue his vision for Aman Resorts because he has not had full control of the brand.

Now with this new partnership with Peak Hotels & Resorts, Zecha can continue with his long-term vision for Aman; working to maintain the level of excellence at the existing properties, and pursuing new strategic developments to further build and enhance the brand.

An additional $500 million has already been budgeted for property enhancements and to further develop the reach of Aman’s exclusive properties.

“I am delighted to partner with Peak as they share my vision for Aman`s future growth and are committed to sustain our company`s reputation for many decades to come,” said Zecha.

“The stockholders of Peak Hotels & Resorts are thrilled with the future outlook and growth potential of Aman Resorts.”
