Legend Hospitality Group makes a splash at Indaba

Legend Hospitality Group is one of the many African tourism companies exhibiting at this year’s Tourism Indaba.

The group, formerly named Legend Lodges is using the annual tourism event to announce its highly anticipated rebrand to Legend Hospitality Group.

The Legend portfolio, world renowned for its diverse luxury destinations, set in various pristine locations in Southern African, originally launched in 2000.

“We are very excited about the rebrand of our company, which we launched at this year’s Tourism Indaba, in Durban, South Africa,” explained Peet Cilliers, chief executive, Legend Hospitality Group.

“It is important to continuously keep innovating and evolving to keep up with an ever changing industry.”

The group, which is famed for having longest par-three golf hole in the world, its luxurious accommodation, the world’s first baby rhino orphanage and the Big 5 roaming wild and free on its safari conservancy.

Visitors – many of them A-list celebrities – come from far and wide to experience Legend Golf & Safari Resort, in the Waterberg area of Limpopo, which was named World’s Leading Safari Resort by the World Travel Awards in 2014.

The Legend Rhino Orphanage

Also on display at the show is the Legend Rhino Orphanage, a registered non-profit company based on the Limpopo Province, founded by Arrie van Deventer in 2012.

The orphanage is the first specialist, dedicated, non-commercial centre that cares for orphaned or injured baby rhinos with the only aim of releasing them back into the wild.

It was created as the result of a lack of a specialised place for rearing baby rhinos left orphaned as a consequence of the current poaching crisis which feeds the illegal trade in horns.
