IHIF 2019: Red Sea Project takes centre stage in Berlin

The Red Sea Development Company will participate in two key travel industry events hosted in Berlin this month.

The company has sponsored the International Hotel Investment Forum and is set to showcase project progress and live opportunities during a presentation delivered by Jay Rosen, head of finance and investments.

Attended by over 2,000 senior figures from over 80 countries for three days of educational panels, open debate and networking receptions, the event is one of the world’s most influential hotel investment platforms.

Rosen will deliver a presentation on the topic of ‘Placemaking: Lessons of Successful Destination Development’ in which he will share details of the unique offerings of the Red Sea Project including its natural habitats and landscapes, culture and heritage, and a range of immersive experiences and activities, all of which are underpinned by a commitment to setting new standards in sustainable development, and positioning Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.

The ITB Berlin Convention, a leading travel industry think tank and trade fair, will be the Red Sea Development Company’s second stop in Germany, where the company will co-exhibit with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority.

The event is expected to attract in excess of 170,000 visitors over four days, keen to hear about the hot topics that will impact the global travel and tourism industry and browse the products and services of approximately 10,000 companies and organisations from 186 countries who plan to exhibit.

“We have strategically chosen to participate in these events because both are internationally recognised as industry leading platforms, reflected in the large number of visitors attracted year after year,” said John Pagano, chief executive at the Red Sea Development Company.

“We are honoured to co-exhibit at ITB Berlin with SAGIA, and look forward to providing attendees with a comprehensive insight into Saudi Arabia as a compelling destination for discerning international travellers.”

“A key focus at ITB this year will be a discussion on how the tourism industry can and should support the development of sustainable tourism destinations, which makes it the ideal platform to reinforce our commitment to creating a destination where luxury and sustainability are inextricably linked, and where the destination benefits from every visitor,” he concluded.
