Hilton furthers growth in South America with Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman
Hilton Worldwide announced the signing of a management agreement to operate a Hilton Garden Inn hotel in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina - the capital of Tucuman province in northern Argentina. The new-build 103-room Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman, expected to open in September 2012, represents the brand’s seventh development project in Latin America and Hilton Worldwide’s fifth development in Argentina, of which three are Hilton Garden Inn projects.
The Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman will be developed by Abasto Tucumano SA. Hilton Worldwide will operate the hotel under the terms of a multi-year management agreement as part of its expansion efforts in Latin America.
“The signing of this Hilton Garden Inn management agreement in Tucuman, Argentina reinforces our commitment to continue our expansion throughout Latin America with a firm effort to introduce our brands to new markets,” commented Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America for Hilton Worldwide. “Adding Tucuman to our portfolio will complement our existing Hilton Buenos Aires in Puerto Madero, as well as the projects we currently have underway in Iguazu, Santa Fe, Ushuaia and Zarate - giving us a solid presence throughout Argentina and offering our guests an opportunity to experience the diversity of this stunning country.”
Forming part of the award-winning, mid-priced brand that delivers high quality and value, the Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman will form part of the Central Tucumano mixed use complex. A restoration project designed to revive the spirit of an area that was fundamental to the way of life decades ago, Central Tucumano will feature a convention center, shopping galleria, dining options, cultural attractions, and a theater. Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman guests will not only have access to all that Central Tucumano has to offer, they will also enjoy a courtyard with direct access to the Mercado del Abasto historic market.
The complex is approximately 30 minutes from the international airport, which welcomes less than two hour flights from Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires.
