A meeting of a delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Kazakhstan, headed by Charge d’Affaires of Bulgaria , Ambassador H.E. Mr. Ivan Dimitrov with management team of “NC “Astana EXPO-2017” JSC headed by Talgat Yermegiyaev, Chairman of the Management Board was held on November 5 this year. Issues of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bulgaria in the context of the International specialised exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017” were discussed in the course of the meeting.
Bulgarian diplomat announced his intention to consolidate and develop bilateral co-operation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bulgaria. He also informed that at present very few Bulgarian products are sold in Kazakhstan and expressed the hope that resumption of the Intergovernmental Commission, scheduled for March 2014 in Sofia will contribute to the improvement of situation. In this regard, I.Dimitrov expressed his hope for participation of representatives of “NC “Astana EXPO-2017” JSC in the event for introduction and expansion of opportunities for the participation of Bulgarian business structures in joint projects with NC “Astana EXPO -2017” JSC.
Chairman of the Management Board reported on the current situation of the preparatory works for the exhibition, including the recent announcement of the official winner of the International Architectural Competition for the best sketch idea of Expo-2017 exhibition complex. The winner is an American company “Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture”. He also informed that an international competition for exhibition venues construction would be announced in 2014. He assured that all information would be available on the Company’s website.
Bulgarian diplomat noted the great potential for the development of economic relations between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria, and expressed confidence that the Exhibition will make a great contribution to the development of infrastructure in the capital and employment creation in various fields.
The parties have agreed to continue further exchange of views with the aim of establishing close cooperation within preparation for Expo 2017.
