The five-star Corinthia Hotel Budapest in Hungary proudly played host to three of the teams for the 2010 Formula One Grand Prix held at the Hungaroring, just outside Budapest.

This year the Hotel provided accommodation and facilities to the teams from Red Bull, Ferrari and Virgin Racing and their support crews, who stayed at the Hotel for the whole week prior to the Grand Prix race on 1st August 2010.

Despite fierce rivalry on the track, the teams nonetheless found time to enjoy the many facilities at the Hotel, including its five excellent restaurants and bars, its many shops, the nightclub and the luxurious Royal Spa.

Significantly, the Hotel’s car park was big enough to accommodate the more than 40 vehicles used by Red Bull, Ferrari and Virgin to ferry teams to and from the Hotel. This is one of the key requirements of the Formula1 teams that regularly stay at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest.

The Hotel’s General Manager, Mr Adrian Ellis commented that the Hotel was very proud to host some of the more in-form teams from this year’s Grand Prix and he can be seen here with Mr Timo Glock (Driver for Virgin Racing) who found time during his busy schedule to sign the Hotel’s guest book and to pose for a photo. On his part, Mr Glock commented that the Corinthia Hotel accommodated all the needs of the crew and was one of his favourites on the Grand Prix circuit.

The Corinthia Hotel Budapest is a member of the newly repositioned upper luxury Corinthia Hotels brand and of The Wyndham Grand Collection. The hotel was painstakingly restored through the personal initiative of Corinthia Hotels’ founder and the owning company’s (IHI) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Alfred Pisani and is a faithful reconstruction of the 110-year-old Grand Hotel Royal. It is owned by Malta based International Hotel Investments plc (IHI) and managed by CHI Hotels & Resorts, a hotel operating company that is a joint venture between IHI and Wyndham Hotel Group. Among its many amenities, the Hotel features a majestic ballroom and a unique ‘Royal Spa’ - an extensive Euro 4 million renovation of an original 19th century Spa that has once again regained its rightful place as Budapest’s most luxurious and imposing Spa facility.
