Flybe welcomes BAA Union agreement

Flybe, Europe’s biggest European regional airline today welcomed the news that BAA and Unite had come to an agreement that removes the threat of strike action during the busy summer period.

Flybe operates from four of BAA’s six UK airports, namely Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen and carries thousands of passengers every day on important regional lifeline routes.

Flybe’s Head of PR and Public Affairs, Niall Duffy said: “Industrial action at any time is damaging to the travel plans of business and leisure passengers alike but during August, it would have hit particularly hard. Flybe is very pleased therefore that strikes are now off the agenda and is encouraged that Unite and BAA have agreed a deal that will now be put to Unite’s membership.”
