Flybe ticks off another building milestone at new training academy

Flybe, the UK’s Number One Domestic airline, has ticked off another milestone in the building of its new Training Academy with the last curved roof section of its impressive Simulator Wing having today been positioned in place by Training Academy Director, Simon Witts.

The state-of-the art building, funded by Flybe, the Learning and Skills Council and the South West Regional Development Agency, is being built by local firm, Rok, and will celebrate its next major milestone next month with a formal roof topping ceremony to mark the completion of the entire roof.

The Flybe Training Academy will incorporate 25 classrooms and four flight simulators nad has been designed to provide a world-class training not only for its own staff but also enhance Flybe’s growing reputation as an international training facility for the airline industry as a whole. It will also offer specialist training for companies involved across the travel-related spectrum.

Comments Mr Witts: “It is exciting to watch the new build progressing especially now that the signature curved roof of the simulator wing is finished and it was an honour to be given the opportunity to fasten the final bolt on its last section.  Construction of the building is progressing well and we look forward to the official celebration next month to mark the completion of the entire roof.”
