Disneyland Hotel secures Four Diamond award
For the first time in 25 years, AAA has awarded the Disneyland Hotel its coveted Four Diamond award.
The designation is presented to only four percent of the 31,000 hotels AAA reviews nationally, according to the Auto Club, which reviews establishments without giving any prior notification.
The property now joins Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as a Four Diamond-rated hotel.
Hotels and restaurants are being notified throughout the year of the 2012 award, with the full list to be released in January.
The Disneyland Hotel is in the midst of a 25-month renovation.
Improvements to the 56-year-old hotel include themed towers with rooms that feature a carved representation of Sleeping Beauty Castle in the headboard of the beds, backlit with fibre optics that will create a skyline of fireworks.
The upgrades also include a themed bar and restaurant and a pool area with water slide.
