Conrad Maldives Rangali Island appoints Nilsson as general manager

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has appointed Peter Nilsson as general manager.

In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing hotel operations and will lead the team in maintaining the resort’s standing as a premier luxury destination in the Indian Ocean.

Nilsson joins Hilton Worldwide from Six Senses Resorts, Residences & Spas where he was managing director - Gulf of Thailand.

In this role, he was responsible for the performance of four five-star, luxury resorts while being based on the island of Koh Kood, where he oversaw day-to-day operations of Soneva Kiri.

With 26 years of international hospitality experience, Nilsson has worked in a number of countries including Sweden, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand and East Timor.

No stranger to the Maldives, he spent two years at Soneva Gili by Six Senses as general manager where he was responsible for the re-opening of the property and led the team through the difficult period post the tragic tsunami which hit the island in 2004.

“With Peter’s extensive luxury experience, having worked in some of the most exclusive properties globally, I am confident that he will bring a dynamic, personalised and fresh approach to the island as we continue to strengthen our position as a leading luxury hotel in the Maldives,” said William Costley, vice president, operations, Southeast Asia, Hilton Worldwide.
