Jacaranda Hill, The Westcliff`s New Center

Building developers, decorators and landscapers are hard at work putting
the finishing touches to Jacaranda Hill, The Westcliff`s new conference
center development, in order to meet the opening deadline of June 2003;
in addition a handful of senior appointments have been made to coincide
with its imminent launch
The nine facilities at Jacaranda Hill will be under the management of
Deputy General Manager, Trevor Latimer, who will be assisted by Banqueting
Operations Manager, Daintry Nienaber with 13 years` experience, most
recently at The Saxon.  Shamila Manulal,  well-known to many existing
guests and clients of The Westcliff, has been promoted to Banqueting Sales
Manager and in this capacity, will also be able to call on clients
off-site.  In addition to expanding their meeting and banqueting and
facilities,  the new development will enable The Westcliff to host large
meetings requiring accommodation.  Its Executive Business Wing is ideally
situated in close proximity to Jacaranda Hill, making access for delegates
very convenient.  Good growth in rooms sales is forecast and Ulrike
Schmidt who has a built a reputable career in the in-bound tour business ,
will be working on increasing the corporate client base for the hotel.
The all important accommodation division at The Westcliff, with its 120
individually-designed rooms, is now under the management of Rooms Division
Manager, Pierre Delfau who has joined The Westcliff from The Palace at
Sun City.
The new Jacaranda Hill Conference Centre Development represents a $2 US
investment by the Orient-Express Group and is a vote of confidence in the
hotel`s success to date, along with the prospects of a prosperous future
for tourism in Johannesburg.
