Wyndham International Wins The Prestigious HSMAI ``Best Of Show`` Award For Excellence In Advertisin

Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE:WYN) was recently honored as the winner of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International`s (HSMAI) “Best of Show” Award.

Initially selected as a Platinum Winner in the HSMAI Adrian Advertising Awards hotel category, Wyndham was then further recognized for the esteemed “Best of Show” Award across all travel categories. Wyndham received this prestigious honor for the success of its integrated marketing and advertising campaign showcasing Wyndham ByRequest(R), the company`s unique guest recognition program.

As the largest travel-related competition of its kind in the world, the HSMAI Travel Awards Competition celebrates the best of the best in the hospitality industry, focusing on campaigns that are tremendously successful in achieving their objectives, driving business and illustrating originality. Last year, Wyndham was awarded the HSMAI Public Relations “Best of Show” and Platinum Award in the hotel category for its Women On Their Way(R) program. This year, Wyndham`s campaign, themed “What`s Your Request?” was chosen from a total of 1,500 entries from 45 countries.

Created by Wyndham`s advertising agency, kirshenbaum bond & partners, the “What`s Your Request” campaign took on a strategic and creative approach with three humorous national television spots that drive the Wyndham ByRequest message home by inviting consumers to “Request the Things that Make Your Room Your Room.” The entertaining vignettes depict hotel rooms being readied for out-of-the-ordinary guests with very special personalized needs, including Elvis, a Vampire and Cinderella. To reach multiple audiences, Wyndham relied on a multi-media campaign including consumer print, direct mail and trade advertising components. The “What`s Your Request” campaign was launched in 2001, and will continue throughout 2002.

“kirshenbaum bond & partners created an innovative campaign that personifies Wyndham`s brand philosophy of personalized service,” said Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer for Wyndham. “This honor recognizes that Wyndham is making strides in delivering our brand message and reaching our customers, so that ultimately, we provide each guest with a personalized hotel experience with every stay.”

Much more than a guest recognition program, Wyndham ByRequest is a service philosophy integral to the Wyndham brand. As the only hotel chain to emphasize personalization by posing the question “What`s your request?” Wyndham is literally reinventing the four-star hotel category through Wyndham ByRequest.

When a Wyndham ByRequest member arrives, they are welcomed with a room that has been tailored to their individual preferences. For example, the guestroom will be located in the area/level of the hotel they prefer, and contain items listed on the profile, such as a magazine, a certain type of pillow, their favorite snack, music by a special performer or their beverage of choice. Each Wyndham property has a ByRequest Manager, who is dedicated to fulfilling guest requests and creating a memorable experience, whether it be finding a favorite bottle of wine or providing information on a local event. It is this attention to detail and unprecedented level of personalized service that keeps Wyndham guests returning, stay after stay.

All guests are eligible for Wyndham ByRequest and can specify their personal preferences by filling out a ByRequest personal profile, which they can obtain on-property, on the Wyndham Web site (www.wyndham.com) or by calling 800-WYNDHAM. Once the information on the personal profile is entered into the Wyndham ByRequest network, guests can enjoy personalized service at any Wyndham Hotels & Resorts property or Summerfield Suites by Wyndham property across the country.
