Overall traffic:

In August, overall traffic increased by 3%, whereas capacity grew by 1%. Consequently, overall load factor increased by 1.5 percentage points from 78.7% last year to 80.2% this year. Traffic growth was especially strong in the route areas Africa (+12%), Europe (+11%) and Asia Pacific (+11%).

Passenger traffic:
Passenger traffic was the same as last year, while capacity was 2% below last year`s level. As a result, passenger load factor increased by 1.8 percentage points to 84.9% this year. Passenger traffic growth was strong in the route areas Europe (+11%) and Africa (+10%). Passenger load factor in the route area North Atlantic increased from 86.3% last year to 88.4% this year. Business Class traffic increased in all key route areas including North Atlantic, Europe and Asia Pacific, and showed a total increase of 19%.
Cargo traffic:

Cargo traffic increased by 7%, whereas capacity grew by 3%. Growth was especially strong in the route area Asia Pacific, where traffic increased by 18% and load factor reached a level of 83.0%.
