DIVI Tiara to host SITA Cayman Brac Turtle Triathlon

The Divi Tiara Beach Resort in Cayman Brac will host the Sister Islands Tourism Authority (SITA) Cayman Brac Turtle Triathlon on April 18, 2004. The one-day event will include a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike and 10 km run and will begin at 7:00 a.m.

The race schedule will include Race Packet pick up and Registration at the Governor’s Conference Centre from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m., followed by a Pre-Race Meeting & Pasta Party at 6:30 p.m. at Brac Reef Beach Resort on April 17. On April 18 the transition area will open at 5:00 a.m. with the race beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Divi Tiara Beach Resort. 
A Post Race Party and Awards Ceremony is tentatively scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. also at Divi Tiara Beach Resort.

The swim will take place in the South Sound, which is an out, and back course square pattern. On the out part all swimmers will stay in the right lane. The bicycling portion of race will be an out and back bike ride, with riding on the left side of the road. Running on the left side of the road with an out and back race.

Competitors will be competing in four age groups: Men 19 and Under, Women 19 and Under; Men 20 - 29, Women 20 - 29; Men 30 - 39, Women 30 - 39; Men 40 and Over, Women 40 and Over. Additionally, there will be a prize given for “Best Man Overall” and “Best Woman Overall,” as well as a prize for top “Athena” and top “Clydesdale.”   
Divi Tiara Beach Resort will offer a special Triathlon Package. The $777 special includes seven nights accommodations, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, plus 50% off a-la-carte diving rates. A $111 day add-on is available for additional nights. Prices are per person. This package can be booked until April 18 with travel taken April 10 - 24, 2004 (three night minimum stay).
