Andrew Waller adds Med Region to CWT responsibilities

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has announced that Andrew Waller’s role will expand to include responsibility for the company’s Mediterranean region - Spain, Italy, Egypt, Greece and Morocco - in addition to the UK & Ireland.

Waller, executive vice president, UK & Ireland, and Mediterranean, will gradually assume responsibility for the Mediterranean region from Marino Faccini, who retires from CWT after 44 years in April 2012. They will work together for a seamless transition.

“Andrew’s proven leadership in building successful teams and delivering results for our clients and the business will now benefit multiple countries within CWT,” said Håkan Ericsson, president EMEA & Latin America.

The two zones will be operated and led by Waller independently of each other; the UK & Ireland leadership team will remain focused only on UK & Ireland. The same applies to the Mediterranean region, where each country is headed by a country manager who will report into Waller.

“I look forward to the new personal challenge, as well as continuing to further build on all that we have achieved for CWT in the UK & Ireland,” said Waller.

Waller joined CWT in 2005 as executive vice president, UK. Under his leadership, CWT UK has generated significant year-on-year growth and has increased market share. He added responsibility for Ireland to his role after leading the acquisition in 2008 of CWT’s Irish partner agency, Executive Travel.
