Alec Baldwin kicked off plane for mobile phone use

Alec Baldwin – star of American comedy 30 Rock – has been kicked off an American Airlines flight in the United States for playing popular online game Words with Friends.

Baldwin was returning from hosting the People for the American Way 30th anniversary celebration at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Los Angeles when the incident occurred.

The actor was asked to leave the plane but was later re-accommodated on a following departure.

“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving,” Baldwin explained on Twitter.

He claimed in a subsequent tweet to have been laying the word United – the name of rival carrier United Airlines – in the online game.

American Airlines quickly replied to Mr Baldwin via Twitter, saying they would “look into” the incident.
No word on who Baldwin was sparing with in the Words with Friends.
