AIBTM’S technology sessions are at industry forefront
The primary focus of AIBTM’s Technology Track is the revolutionary impact that technology is having on the meetings industry. Experts will discuss the most effective ways to utilise new and existing solutions within events, provide the hands-on tools needed to maximise a company’s presence using apps and social media and provide practical advice on effectively implementing innovative technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
All of the Focus on Technology sessions will take place on June 21st, AIBTM Education Day, a day solely dedicated to professional education. The AIBTM exhibition opens on June 22nd and continues on June 23rd.
The first session, Exploring the Benefits of Virtual Events: Engage Your Audience, Extend Your Reach and Measure Your Event, will help meeting and event planners understand the value of virtual events and how they can achieve meeting goals and maximise attendee experience. Delegates will learn about the different types of virtual events, virtual event pricing structure, measurement strategy and how to evaluate virtual technology.
Mobilising Your Events, presented by Olivier Delerm, CMO of Certain Software, Inc. will explore the benefits of mobilised events, including sustainability, productivity, increasing social activity and minimising stress, as well as discussing the ‘do’s and don’ts’ for a successful mobile experience.
The final Focus on Technology session, Behind the Scene of a Successful Event: Seven Ways Technology Can Boost Your Success, will provide a comprehensive view of what makes events successful. The seminar will provide a wealth of best practice tips on maximising resources, and will give delegates useful advice on building a better event site, using social media platforms such as twitter and leveraging virtual event technology to benefit an event.

AIBTM Project Director, Steve Knight added: “The challenging economic conditions during the last few years and the demands for efficiency have driven meeting professionals to increasingly look to technology to help them achieve their event goals.”
“The technology available to the industry, from pre-planning, pricing and promotion to post-event evaluation is phenomenal, as is the rate at which innovative solutions are beginning to flood the market. Our sessions will assist delegates in navigating their way through the technology maze to understand the real benefits that technology can provide, helping them maintain their competitive edge and drive new business” comments Knight.
Content for AIBTM’s Professional Education Program will be created in conjunction with the leading industry associations including PCMA, CIC, MPI, ICCA, and JMIC and is complimentary for the 3,000 meeting professionals in attendance, 2,000 of which are qualified Hosted Buyers.
In addition to the technology sessions, AIBTM Education Day will feature a series of conferences and workshops, including the Association Leadership Conference, which will focus on strategies for association meeting planners, and the Women in Business Conference. The Branding your Product Master Class will help suppliers understand the power of viral marketing, social media and how to increase exposure for their company or product in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
